Audi tests a prototype of its autonomous electric air taxi in Amsterdam

Audi has presented for the first time a prototype of its electric air taxi in Amsterdam, also performing the first test flight in front of the public.

How is it made?

It is a vehicle with two seats, 100% electric, autonomous and capable of driving both on the road and flying over cities.
For this purpose, it has a VTOL (vertical deployment and landing) design and a modular structure that allows it to be divided into three totally independent parts.

What would your service look like?

To see what an on-demand service of this type could look like, Audi is testing in South America. Customers book helicopter flights in the City, while an Audi is ready for transfer to or from the landing site.

Services like this help us better understand our customers’ needs, because in the future, flying taxis will attract a wide range of city dwellers. We are simultaneously exploring the limits of what is technically possible. The next step is for a full-size prototype to fly and drive,” said Audi’s Supply Manager.
