The Consistory has initiated the appropriate procedures to be able to tender the work that will reorder the car park and create a new access

The City Council hopes that the work can be completed for next summer

The Department of Town Planning will begin in the coming months work to extend the promenade of the neighborhood of La Cala, a project that began last year and just received authorization from the Conselleria. This action will provide greater accessibility to the area.

Last week the Town Hall received this communication from Costas authorizing it to carry out the works through which a new promenade will be built, the car park will be reorganized and a new access will be created.

The project envisages that the promenade has an average width of five metres for exclusive pedestrian use, from the existing area to approximately the area of the Modesto restaurant. Banks and luminaires will be installed in this section.

The municipal department of Urbanism has already begun the procedures to be able to carry out the work as soon as possible. Firstly, the project will be reviewed and appropriate reports will be submitted for final approval to the Governing Board and then contracting will commence.

The approximate budget is 180,000 euros and it is estimated that the work can start in a couple of months, to which must be added the execution period that will be another two or three months to conclude.

We hope that this coming summer La Cala enjoys its new promenade, a performance much in demand by users and neighbors and which has been delayed for reasons beyond the control of this City Council. From the area of Urbanism we have begun the necessary procedure so that in a few months can improve the accessibility of the stretch and pedestrian area in La Cala,”said Jaime Ramis, Councillor of Urbanism.
